Mark David Basco, PT, DPT is a Board-certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy and an Advanced Certified Exercise Expert on Aging Adults. He has published an interesting piece in the Journal of Frailty and Aging entitled, Use of a High-Intensity Resistance Exercise Program to Improve Lower Extremity Strength and Mobility in a 105-Year Older Woman: A Case Report.

He discussed how came up with the idea and how he convinced his patient to participate in the research. He explained exercise prescription and considerations in starting a high-intensity resistance exercise program with the older population. Lastly, he shared why we should look into other ways to challenge our older adult patients.
